Torrance,
CA — September 20th, 2023 — Matrix Soccer Club is thrilled to announce
a significant milestone in its journey. Starting from the 2024 - 2025
season and beyond, Matrix Soccer Club will transition to AYSO United,
proudly adopting the new identity of "AYSO United East County." This
transition will usher in a new era of soccer excellence for the
communities of El Cajon (R168), La Mesa (R89), Santee (R341),
Lakeside(R234), and Alpine (R295) and surrounding communities in the
player catchment area.
AYSO
United, as the National Club Program of the American Youth Soccer
Organization (AYSO), is renowned for its commitment to providing a
world-class youth soccer experience that enriches the lives of
children. With this transition, AYSO United East County becomes part of
a nationwide network of soccer excellence.
David
Thomas, AYSO United National Director, expressed his excitement about
this union, saying, "We are thrilled to welcome Matrix into the AYSO
United family. This is a fantastic opportunity for players, coaches,
and families alike. We can't wait to witness the growth and development
of AYSO United East County. The strong foundation laid by the Matrix
program over the past few years sets the stage for a bright future as
part of our national program."
AYSO
United operates in 32 communities nationwide, serving over 9,000
players who compete in local travel leagues, regional leagues, and
national leagues. With AYSO's core philosophies and vision at its core,
AYSO United is dedicated to fostering excellence in youth soccer.
Callum
Salter, The AYSO United SoCal General Manager shared his confidence in
the transition, stating, "We are certain that we will continue the
fantastic work that has already been accomplished in the area. New and
existing players and coaches will gain access to a wealth of AYSO
United resources, including National Coaching Education, comprehensive
coaching development curriculums, college counseling for older players,
international player tours, and local support from our national staff
and partners. We are eager to kickstart this journey and provide the
best soccer experience in the area."
During
the ongoing season and State Cup, all current Matrix teams will
continue to play under the "Matrix" name. However, tryouts for the
upcoming season will be held under the "AYSO United" club name.
Subsequently, all teams will move forward as AYSO United East County.
We
are proud and excited to welcome AYSO United East County to the AYSO
United family. We look forward to supporting the players, coaches, and
families of El Cajon (R168), La Mesa (R89), Santee (R341), Lakeside
(R234), and Alpine (R295) on their journey to soccer excellence.
